I own a very early "wood & wicker" 1985 No-Stripe Mark III. It has the "105" Mark IIC+ power transformer and an '85 200W EVM 12L. Mike B. at Mesa/Boogie applied / added these mods: "+" mode, "Rhythm 2 volume pot", triode / pentode switch. Of course it has reverb, presence, and the GEQ. I also had the fan replaced with a quieter fan and a resistor in series to lower its speed, so the amp is rather quiet. This is a very fine and formidable amp.

Kris i had an ox box when they came out and could not get it working when it needed to be connected to both its wifi hotspot and internet at same time please can you let me know how you got it registered and up and running? i have just bought another one. Hello Kris. Thanks a lot for another great content. Currently debating between this one and the IR-D. I prefer the sound and functionnaties of the mothership but it seems too miss a very important detail for my use and I can’t find a confirmation anywhere : is the Mothership’s effect loops activable by midi as the one on the IR-D is ? The Tsakalis app looks way less refined. Could you please confirm that aspect ? Thanks and keep up the great work !

Thanks for a watchable and coherent video. You can also tilt the p/ups. You can also change string gauge and use the stoptail height to adjust the string tension ("feel") on Les Paul-type set ups but whatever you do, it's easy to dial it back so...experimenting is no cost, no risk and it doesn't even take ten minutes. When all is said and done and you're happy, try a quality compressor stomp box. These do lots of stuff but one thing they do is great when playing clean at low volume when the compressor is set at very low level compression - p/ups, even the finest ones, are primitive and they have foibles, irregularities and imbalances no matter how you set them up. It's the limit of their technology. A good compressor removes that without compromising anything at all. Some look down on this as some sort of cheat but.........all pro guitarists and studios use them, regardless of how expensive etc your guitar and amp are.....all the time. It improves every aspect. Before you change p/ups, try a decent compressor and consider your hard-won dollars. So much better! Nice video, thank you.

My 2c? The wood and bridge and headstock are about RESONANCE rather than the color of the TONE. All of it works together.

No sweat. USB-B to USB-C cables can be found for ~$2. A nice option would be if the USB jack could be replaced if broken. They are bit delicate and are often PCB mounted.

I like to run my modulation effects to both amps but only one amp gets delay or reverb. Sometimes I'll run my boss ce3 to both amps in stereo ad well

I have made a relic project out of one, just changed the machine heads. The neck is quite thick but not bad at all. It's a shame the height won't match a Jazzmaster standard body.

Definitely not bad, but this isn't telling me how good it can sound, either. Sonically, a tele is _unbeatable_ for cluck cluck country chicken picking, but imho for everything else there is a better guitar.

Echo Fix has a fuller sound. The UAD pedal has more highs and exaggerated tail which can trick the ear but it sounds a bit hollow compared to the Echo Fix. I prefer analog like the RE-201 or a real Fender Reverb Tank ( I own a 1964). The Echo Fix sounds really nice.

So you couldn't replicate the experiment but still had a conclusion. That's an F. Also if the signal gets compression from distortion such in metal music, it should in theory give more wood sound differences. Not less.

If you use the same tube power rating they sound the same! If you use a tube with a lower or higher power rating! Your amp tone will change completely! Look on my channel! Use any brand tube! I learned this from a head tech at Groove Tubes! He set up live stage show amps for Metallica and Kiss years ago! This is a trade secret no one knows until I told everyone a few days ago! Amp is still factory stock electronically after these tubes! I lowered my power rating in my tubes from 6 to 4! My amp has so much gain now! I can't use distortion, overdrive or boost pedals! I call this: tube amp GOD MOD! Just call your tube dealer! Use same stock model number tubes in your amp! Any brand will work! Tell them the power rating you want. The lower power rating tube will give you more distortion! The higher the power rating tube will give you less distortion! Mids & gain for infinity if you lower your power rating! That's what makes it a live show amp! Any tube dealer knows this information about the power tubes & their power ratings for you all also! You have to call them to request a different power rating! Just letting everyone know! A new world of music for everyone! Tubes in my amp run cooler, & my amp tubes have lasted almost 20 years! There are 10 different power ratings for every model vacuum tube everyone! Enjoy!

Tele is the AK47 of guitars, it does it all! P90s sound great too. I’ll take both….. that will solve any issues!!!

You have a great presentational style which is far more natural than many other UA-camrs. Lovely stuff! I noted your use of your Tele for most of this and you make it sound incredibly beautiful. I can learn a lot from you. I don't often leave comments but felt I needed to here - after watching whole load of other videos on auto wahs over the past hour or so. I left a comment a while back on your video about why Teles are the best - I'm the bloke with the wife who loves the sound and look of them (as do I!) - unlikely you'll remember, but still. I built a tweed champ/princeton circuit with marshall tone stack and raw switch. I also added a negative feedback pot ranging from 5k to 100k. .. The nfb pot can get you anywhere from JTM to tweed territory with a quick turn of a knob. The raw switch deletes the tone stack and acts as a tweed boost , which is essentially the difference between the champ and princeton. . That and the nfb work wonderfully together. The black heart little giant is the perfect donor amp for this type of conversion.

I have a very similar guitar made by Artist in Oz and love mine too. They just work.
